Release version: 5.33
For payments with higher security clients, you can set up a mandatory approval process. When applied, payments must be approved by an A Officer or two A Officers. For example, a transaction submitted by a B Officer must be approved by an A Officer.
- If you are a B Officer, then an A Officer must approve your transactions in the Unposted transactions list, under Waiting for Approval. A B Officer can only approve their own submitted transactions if the Can approve transactions checkbox is selected (see below) in the Employee role properties.
- If you are an A Officer, you may approve a transaction submitted by a B Officer. This will move the transaction to the Waiting for Second Approval section. Only another A Officer may approve that transaction.
- However, an A or B Officer may not approve their own payment. The user who submits the transaction is not able to approve their own transaction unless the Can approve own transactions workflow right is selected.
This is not connected to the payment approval process. A manager can approve the payment if their role has the right to do so. This manager may or may not need to also be an A Officer or B Officer.
